Meet Our Featured Writer of the Month - Anamia Frias
US-based Anamia Frias is a screenwriter, producer, and director. Her first feature ‘Why Me’, selected through various festivals, won ‘Best Experimental Short’ in the Madrid Arthouse Film Festival. She also directed the Short called RUN which has just been officially selected to be in two festivals.
RUN is a series about a young woman who was busted for smuggling her prescription opioids to inmates but is then given an ultimatum by prison guards to cut them in or join her clients behind bars. The series sheds light on the struggles of young adults who deal with pain-related disabilities and their struggle to balance medical and daily life expenses, while big pharma pushes opioids to lower income communities as a cure.
Anamia received her bachelors from The Los Angeles Film School. She enjoys making impactful content in her creative field of writing.
