Monaco Streaming Film Festival Wrap Up

NBC Universal + Peacock, YouTube, Variety, Altrd.TV, AMP Global Technologies, Diesel Labs, Arabian Camels, Reality Plus were some of the companies part of the conversation at the Monaco Streaming Film Festival where Apojo has been following Cannes 2022.

Below are some of our favourite quotes and highlights from the event and conferences:

“If you are going to do content creation, you should do it to educate people on something rather than to just entertain.” - Bill MacDonald “Producing in Hollywood” Keynote

The world is changing and it’s changing for the better where it’s no longer territorial but more globalist.

Whilst writing, consider the key angle from which to frame the story. Consider if the story would be done justice as a feature film. If not, consider turning it into a series.

Producers, distributors and streamers need to remember that audiences “invest” in shows and the characters. To take that into consideration above any other financial measure is crucial for survival.

New streaming models are going to pose a threat to the likes of TikTok, Instagram and such … The talent of writers for features, series, shorts, and more will always be needed.

“Web 3.0 is here and we are already working with the BBC to create the next wave in shows and gaming”. - Morten Rongaard, Reality Gaming Group

“Volvo cars has android automotive in the operating system through which app developers can choose to stream their content directly through the cars. Moving to autonomous driving will enable content streaming even further to provide personalized solutions.” - Johan Amoruso-Wennerby, Volvo Cars

It truly is a global business now. Hollywood will eventually cease to be the dominant player in the coming years. Therefore it’s important for writers to create stories with universal reach.

“Augmented reality in driving will be the next frontier.” - Johan Amoruso-Wennerby, Volvo Cars

Content consumption has far outweighed content production. Only the right technology solutions can solve this problem.

“Movies can create movements.” - Nishat Hashem, CEO & Founder, APOJO

The Monaco Streaming Film Festival ended with the Award Ceremony and Gala Dinner at Le Meridien Beach Plaza in Monaco.

James Cameron was the recipient of the AACTA Reg Grundy Innovation Award for his innovative filming techniques, especially developed during Avatar 2 production. The award was accepted by his partner Suzy Amis Cameron.

Revered actor Jeff Fahey ("Lost", "A Bird Flew In") took the Humanitarian award for his continued humanitarian efforts.
